I've finally decided to sell my clarinet since I never play it anymore and need the cash.


For sale is a 1970s Evette & Schatter Buffet-Crampon Advanced/Pro quality Bb soprano Clarinet.

Unlike later Buffet-Crampon model clarinets this is a professional or advanced-intermediate quality clarinet made in Paris. I used this clarinet for about 5 years for doubling in gigs and for teaching clarinet lessons. Now that I no longer play/teach music professionally I simply don't need it.

This clarinet plays wonderfully! I've compared it to many other instruments side by side. To give you a sense of the quality, it plays better than the average Buffet E11 but not quite as well as a good R13. It makes a perfect horn for doubling or for any quality clarinet player who isn't ready (or able) to invest thousands in an instrument.

I paid $750 for this in 2001 from Charles Fail Music in Atlanta. They fully refurbished the horn and had the keys re silver plated. It is still in excellent condition and I have cared for it well. I have ALWAYS swabbed out and cleaned it after playing it and I have periodically applied bore oil to keep the wood in good condition. The only flaws are a few very minor scratches and normal signs of age. There is no cracking or damage to the wood or keys.

Included are the clarinet, a B45 mouthpiece, a 30+ year old Harrison ligature which fits the MP perfectly and 2 cases, the original and a hard shell Artley case I've been using because it holds the clarinet in place more securely. I'll also throw in bore oi,l a swab and a reed case, and I may have some unopened reeds I'll include if I can find them.

I'm asking $900 but am willing to consider offers.
